Will it help improve our roads?
Masternaut updates software ahead of HGV speed limit changes
From Monday 6th April 2015, the speed limit for HGVs travelling on single and dual carriageways in England and Wales will be increased. However, limits in Scotland and Europe will be remaining the same.
The national speed limits for HGVs over 7.5 tonnes, travelling on a single carriageway will increase from 40mph to 50mph, while those travelling on dual carriageways will increase from 50mph to 60mph.
These changes to speed limits will be reflected in Masternaut software from Monday 6th April. This will continue to ensure Masternaut is providing customers with 100% accurate data, reports and insight about their fleet.
Steve Towe, Chief Commercial Officer and UK Managing Director, commented: “The introduction of new HGV speed limits will no doubt help improve our roads and create a much more modern transport network, which is in keeping with improved vehicle technology and other large vehicles on UK roads. Masternaut is committed to providing our customers with 100% accurate data and with these changes being implemented both on the road and in our solutions, is a record we will continue to keep.”
Masternaut’s flagship software, Masternaut Connect, is a next generation telematics platform, collating a wide range of information on vehicles and driving behaviour, giving businesses an in-depth insight into how they can improve fleet safety and driver behaviour. The technology is proven to improve fleet safety (reduced speeding, harsh events), lower insurance premiums, improve fuel economy and bring many other benefits.
